This trip is for people who want to get to know the most attractive sights in Cuba. This country has so much to offer that the “My Magic Cuba” trip will be the memorable one. To fulfill the promise we provide you with a trusty programme and carefully chosen hotels. You will spend your trip traveling across the island in a beautiful scenery and friendly atmosphere.
This is going to be a sentimental journey in the country of Jose Marti, Che Guevara, Hemingway, Buena Vista and also cigars and rum. We will admire the charm of Havana at the first place. The pre-Columbian era coalesces with the revolution. The redone, full of tourists old town borders with quarters where the real life of “habaneros” takes its course. You will be spending evenings at the most famous boulevard of Havana- Malekon and music club of Old Havana. You will be amused by live Cuban music while drinking cold “mojito”. You will retain memories of days and nights spent in Cayo Coco and one of the most beautiful beaches in Cuba, Playa Pilar.
Day 1: Havana
We will welcome you at the airport, transfer to the hotel, where you will rest after the journey, have a dinner and accommodation.
Day 2: Havana, Revolution and Che Guevara
After breakfast we will start with sightseeing the capital of Cuba. We will drive to New Havana: have a photo session with a neoclassic Capitol building in the background; we will visit the Central Park- inhabitants’ favorite place for strolls; Revolution Plaza with the Museum and the monument of Jose Marti; after another photo session with the huge monument of Che Guevara we will stop at the famous boulevard Melecon lined with tremendous offices, hotels, monuments, villas and mansions. We will visit a famous for its valued cigars factory. Afterwards we will drive to the Las Cabanas fort and have a photo session with the Old and the New Havana. Return to the hotel.
Day 3: In the Vinales Valley
After breakfast we will drive to Pinar del Rio – the capital of province, considered to be the most beautiful region in Cuba. We will have a walk around the city, where houses boast their rich and extraordinary decorations. Then we will drive to Vinales Valley, which was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site as a cultural landscape, both for its natural beauty and for the Vernacular architecture and traditions. It is surrounded by conspicuous cliffs rising like islands from the bottom of the valley called mogotes. We will see a great “prehistoric mural” and caves, which served as a shelter for fugitive slaves during the Spanish colonization. After dinner we will come back to Havana. In the evening we will organize an optional trip to the famous Tropicana cabaret.
Day 4: In the house of Ernest Hamingway - Santiago de Cuba
After breakfast we will drive to Finca Vigia, resting in the shade house of the author of “The Old Man and the Sea”. We will visit a fishermen village Cojimar. Afterwards we will drive to Havana, visit the Museum of Rum (Havana Club), where we can try this special brand rum. We will take a walk around Old Havana: Plaza de la Cathedral, Plaza de Arma. We will visit the Floridita bar where Hemingway used to spend evenings and the Bodeguita del Medio, we will try his favorite drink, Daiquiri. Afterwards we will transfer you to the airport and fly to Santiago de Cuba.
Day 5: Santiago de Cuba, Mother Marry from Cobre
After breakfast we will have time for sightseeing. We will visit the Cathedral, the House of the Governor, Park Céspedes, which was built in XVI Century, with the objective of using it as Square of Weapons (Plaza de Armas); Moncada barracks, which were attacked in 1953 by a group of rebels led by Fidel Castro. We will also visit a museum, where the vast collection of militaries occupies 10 rooms of the building; San Pedro de la Roca Castle (known at present as Fort el Morro), the Museum of Carnival, the Museum of Bacardi and the most famous sanctuary in Cuba-Santuario el Cobre, the church of the patroness of Cuba. We will have a dinner in the old town and return to the hotel. We will organize a trip to the famous Casa de la Trova for volunteers. In the evening we will organize a Latin music party.
Day 6: Santiago de Cuba, Indian city – Baracoa
After breakfast we will take a picturesque mountain route to the end of the Oriente region, where the city Baracoa is located. We will visit the oldest city in Cuba which was the first settlement of Spaniards here on the Island in 1512. We will have a walk in this most indigenous city in the country. You will be guide through Seboruco de Santa Bárbara Castle, the place formerly cut off the rest of the Island for four centuries, where three fortresses were built. In the main square in a church we can find the historical Columbus Cross, one of 29 which he left in America. This one is the oldest one that remained on the island. We will have a dinner in the old town and afterwards we will transfer you to the hotel.
Day 7: Baracoa – Holguin
This is going to be a “real Cuba” day. You will see it as it is, without conveniences of life. We will take you on the cruise on the Toa River, you will see plantations of coffee and coconuts. Then we will drive to the Catholic city Holguin, where we check in at the hotel, have a dinner and stay overnight.
Day 8: Holguin – Camaguey - Moron
After breakfast we will have some time to visit Holguin: Calixto Garcia Park (where we can find historical, colonial style buildings), we will drive to the Hill of the Cross (Loma de la Cruz) the aim of annual pilgrimage of catholic Cubans. Next we will drive to Moron and it is going to be our “base camp” for trips to local islands with stunning beaches: Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo. On the way to Moron we will stop in the third biggest city in Cuba-Camaguey. After seeing main historical monuments we will continue driving to Moron, where we will have a dinner and accommodation.
Day 9: Cayo Guillermo
Breakfast. We will drive on the causeway across the Atlantic to Cayo Coco. We will have a boat cruise to a cay, during which you can try snorkeling. We will stop at the beach of a small cay, where we will have some time for sunbathing, swimming and active recreation. We will have a meal on the boat and afterwards return to the harbor, dinner and transfer to Santa Clara where we stay overnight.
Day 10: Santa Clara – Sancti Spiritus - Trinidad
After breakfast we will have some time for sightseeing in Santa Clara. We will visit the monumental Mausoleum of Che Guevara – the revolution hero. We will have a walk in the Leoncio Vidal Park. We will stop at Sancti Spiritus and have a walk in the oldest city in Cuba. Then we will take you to Trinidad and we will stop on the way at the Valle de los Ingenios view point to take some photos.
Day 11: Trinidad
After breakfast we will visit one of the best preserved colonial cities in Cuba – Trinidad. We will visit the Romantic Museum and walk in the city where you can hear traditional Cuban music in the bars and gardens every evening. We will also visit a museum, an example of great palace – houses, which were built in times of wealthiness in Cuba. In the afternoon you will have some time for walking along historical streets of the old town. We will organize an optional trip to the Playa Ancon, where you can get a sunbath. In the evening, if you are willing to participate, we will go out to one of numerous bars and music gardens.
Day 12: Cienfuegos - Varadero
After breakfast we will drive to Cienfuegos – a harbor city called „the daisy of the South”. We will stop at the Soledad Botanic Garden – the biggest botanic garden in Cuba boasting palms and tropical trees from different continents. In Cienfuegos we will take a walk along the El Prado Boulevard and see the most important historical monuments and visit the Marti Garden. You will have a chance to admire the eclectic style Palacio del Valle – the former palace of one of the richest families in Cuba. Then will take you to Varadero. You will check in at the exclusive hotel with a private beach and all-inclusive package.
Day 13: Varadero
We will stay in the most famous Cuban resort with pure white beaches and turquoise water, at the all-inclusive hotel. In the afternoon you will be taken for a short trip to the Varadero village and Hicacos peninsula. We will drive through the First Alley, Al Capone house, Josone Park and the house of Dupont family. Then we will bring you to the hotel for a rest.
Day 14: Varadero
Another day in the beautiful Cuban resort. Today you will have an opportunity to take one of optional trips: Jeep Safari, swimming with dolphins or a ship cruise to a tropical island with diving or snorkeling.
Day 15: Varadero - Havana
After breakfast you will have last moment to enjoy Varadero beach, then we will drive to Havana, stop at the 110 meter long bridge, considered to be a technical masterpiece. Farewell to the guide and departure from Havana to Europe.
Day 16: End of the trip
Return home.
