PILGRIMAGE TO BASILICA DE GUADALUPE – 8 DAYS

The famous Basilica de Guadalupe, also known as Nueva Basilica de Santa Maria de Guadalupe, opened in 1976,it is one of the most important places of worship and Pilgrimage not only in Mexico, but in Latin America. Hundreds and hundreds of people come to this part of the world to pray, ask for healing, give thanks for favours received, and to see the amazing buildings and temples. The main day of festivities every year, is December 12 .During this trip, you will have the chance to know part of our history, enjoy wonderful sceneries, places and traditions. We will end this tour in the heavenly Acapulco beach, located in the Port of Acapulco, a magnificent natural Port, which linked Mexico to the Philippines, and the rest of Asia, during Spanish Colonial times.

DAY 1: TORONTO-MEXICO CITY
Arrival. Welcome at the Mexico City airport. Check in at the hotel. Welcome drink. Leisure time. Dinner.

DAY 2: BASILICA DE GUADALUPE
Breakfast. Holy mass in English, and sightseeing tour through the Basilica de Guadalupe. Visit the original site of the Virgin?s apparitions, which is surrounded by magnificent gardens, a Monument to Pope John Paul II, and a Museum of objects of worship, and religious paintings of the 18th and 19th century. Leisure time. Return to the hotel. Dinner.

DAY 3: MEXICO CITY-TEOTIHUACAN
Breakfast. Plaza de las Tres Culturas, or Plaza of the three Cultures, where you can view an original pre - Hispanic site, a Spanish Colonial building, and a modern skyscrapper, where the original Ministry of Foreign Affairs used to be. Basilica de Guadalupe, place of worship of the Virgin of Guadalupe. Teotihuacan, the city of Gods,a magnificent ancient Metropolis, a marvel of ancient urban design, with wide walkways and a miriad of buildings, there we will climb The main three buildings, the Piramide del Sol , a temple dedicated to the Sun, Piramide de la Luna,dedicated to the Moon, and Piramide del Dragon Emplumado,dedicated to the Plummed Serpent. Dinner nearby, with a beautiful view of the pyramids. Return to the hotel.
Optional visit: Plaza Garibaldi , a famous Plaza downtown, a well know gathering place of traditional Mexican Mariachi bands, full of Cantinas, or Mexican Bars, where you can taste Tequila, and where we will enjoy mariachi music .

DAY 4: PUEBLA
Breakfast. Puebla de los Angeles, the city of Angels., a beautiful Spanish colonial city, declared a United Nations World heritage site. Visit the cathedral and Capilla del Rosario. Visit the archaeological zone of Cholula and its famous pyramid, considered to be the world?s second highest, and crowned by a Spanish Colonial church. Visit the Santuario de la Piedad. Holy mass. Dinner. Return to the hotel.

DAY 5: TAXCO
Breakfast. Taxco, a Colonial city with rich deposits of silver, known as the silver city, located in the midst of the Mountains of the state of Guerrero.Sightseeing: Catedral de Santa Prisca and Iglesia de San Sebastian. Know the history of mining and buy silver jewelry and silver gadgets at great prices. Check in at the hotel. Welcome drink. Leisure time. Dinner.

DAY 6: ACAPULCO
Breakfast in Taxco, travel to Acapulco in El Sol highway. Arrival to Acapulco, welcome drink. Leisure time at the beach. Dinner.
Optional tour: Acapulco Diamante zone,a strech of the Bay where Mexico?s rich and famous come for rest and relaxation. Bonanza yatch, afternoon trip along the bay with beverages included. Visit La Quebrada in the evening and its famous cliff divers, young men who risk their lives, diving off a high cliff by the sea. 45 USD - . Return to the hotel. Dinner.

DAY 7: ACAPULCO
Breakfast. Leisure time at the beach. Dinner.
Optional tour: Coyuca lagoon, a beautiful strech of tropical jungle full of tropical fruit trees and wildlife,where Rambo and Tarzan were filmed. Boat trip and walk in the tropical woods. Taste iguana and coconut milk with nutmeg and try a seaweed beauty mask. Revolcadero beach – 45 USD -. Relax at the beach. Return to the hotel. Dinner.

DAY 8: ACAPULCO-MEXICO CITY
Breakfast. Some minutes to enjoy the beach. Return to Mexico City. Farewell holy mass in English at Basilica de Guadalupe. Mexico City Airport departure.
