PYRAMIDS AND TEQUILA 7 DAYS

The Pyramids of Teotihuacan an ancient Pre- Hispanic urban settlement of wide avenues and awesome Temples, full of magnificent stone feathered serpents sculptures, and stucco wall paintings, as well as two magnificent pyramids, the biggest pyramids dedicated to the sun and the moon, which can be climbed. This ancient city was the site of pompous ceremonies and traditions, the place where the people became Gods. We will visit the surrounding countryside, and view the agave plants from which the traditional Mexican drinks of Tequila and Pulque are produced, a tasting of salt, Tequila and lime. View local artisans creating their handicrafts which can be purchased at very good prices. You will experience the dramatic coexistence of two cultures. We will view the abundance of jewels of Spanish baroque style architecture of colonial times. Mexico is a variety of unusual scenes, and coexisting traditions, inherited from the Spanish conquistadores, and the indigenous people of the land. You will experience the well known hospitality and friendliness of the residents along with the atmosphere of continuous fiesta in the oldest Mexican resort of Acapulco. This is one of the most beautiful natural ports of the world, blessed with jade green waters and an excellent warm climate year round, golden sandy beaches overgrown with palms, marvelous lagoons, a splash of waives, hot sun caressing your skin...

DAY 1: MEXICO CITY
A flight to Mexico. Greeting at the airport. A transfer to a hotel. Welcome drink. Hotel accommodation. Leisure time. Dinner. Overnight stay in Mexico City. 

DAY 2: XOCHIMILCO
Breakfast. Mexico City tour. The old city tour. Visit to El Zocalo, the heart of any Mexican city, where the Municipal palace and the Cathedral usually stand side by side, this is the traditional gathering place for people watching, Sunday time strolling or for Political rallies. Tours around the President Palace to view The Murals, on- the wall paintings by artist Diego Rivera. A transfer to the town of Xochimilco, where remnants of the traditional life on the lake can be seen. The town has been declared a United Nations world Heritage site. A boat tour in a traditional barge called chinanpa, accompanied by the music of Mariachi and marimba through the "floating gardens" of Xochimilco. A transfer to the Bosque de Chapultepec and visit to the Anthropological Museum, the best of its kind in Latin America, where a great variety of the pre-Columbian objects are displayed. Return to the hotel. Dinner. Overnight stay in Mexico city.

DAY 3: TEOTIHUACAN

Breakfast. A tour to the Square of the Three Cultures, A square where the three cultures of Mexico co- exist, the Pre- Hispanic, the Spanish colonial one, and Modern Mexico. A visit to the Basilica of the Mother of God from Guadeloupe in Mexico City. This is the most important shrine and place of Pilgrimage in Latin America, where every year thousands of people come to pray, give thanks, or ask for favors to the Virgin de Guadalupe, who is said to have appeared at this site. A transfer to Teotihuacan to see the largest American pyramids in the pre-Spanish "place of Gods": Pyramid del Sol, Pyramid de la Luna, La Ciudadela, Calzada de los Muertos. Dinner nearby, with a magnificent view of the Pyramids. A transfer to the hotel. Optional night tour to Garibaldi Square a gathering place of traditional Mariachi bands, and where the oldest Cantinas, or Mexican bars are located, for a tasting of Tequila. Overnight stay in Mexico City. 

DAY 4: CACAHUAMILPA - TAXCO
Breakfast. By a colorful highway along the Popocatepetl and Ixtaccihualt volcanoes you will be transferred to the Caves of Cacahuamilpa. A visit to the largest Mexican caves, famous for marvelous stalactites and stalagmites. A transfer to the world famous "silver town"- of Taxco, a colonial city located in the mountains of the state of Guerrero famous for its rich deposits of silver, and for the magnificent work of its silversmiths. City sightseeing: viewpoints, Santa Prisca and San Sebastian Roman Catholic Church – both are jewels of the Spanish baroque style architecture. You will get acquainted with the history of silver mining in Taxco in a replica of silver mine. Walk along beautiful narrow cobblestone roads full of history. Free shopping time to acquire silver ware and jewelry at great bargain prices. Leisure time. Dinner. Overnight stay in Taxco.

DAY 5: ACAPULCO
Breakfast. Leisure time at the beach. Optional trip to "The Diamond Coast" where Mexico’s rich and famous come to play and relax. An afternoon tour along the Acapulco Bay, and viewpoints of the "Diamond Coast." A boat trip on the yacht "Bonanza", from where you can view the mountains dotted with villas and residences of famous people in politics, culture and show business. During the boat tour, life music will accompany you and an all-inclusive bar will be available. Evening tour to see the fascinating dives from over 35m high at La Quebrada cliff, where young men risk their lives every night, jumping into the sea. Return to the hotel. Dinner. Overnight stay. 

DAY 6: ACAPULCO
Breakfast. Leisure time at the beach. Optional trip "COYUCA LAGOON". A transfer from the hotel to the lake surrounded by mountains and a tropical forest, Lagoon Coyuca, which was used in the famous "RAMBO" movie as a film scenario. A boat ride by the river along the tropical jungle. Tasting of iguana and coconut milk with nutmeg and also a chance to try fangotheraphy (alga masks) for beauty treatment; a stay at the famous site for high waves, Revolcadero beach. Return to the hotel. Dinner. Overnight stay. 

DAY 7: VISTA HERMOSA
Breakfast. Last minute stay at the Acapulco beaches. A transfer by the "sun way" highway to Mexico City. A farewell dinner, transfer to the airport and a flight home.
