While traveling along the route of early Christian missions you will admire unique historical monuments from the colonial period. You will be amazed by Mexico’s spectacular wild places and richness of fauna and flora. You will learn about pre-Columbian era as well as customs and day-to-day life in present-day Mexico. You will visit the biggest pyramids in America and learn about terrifying ceremonies in the country of sombreros, gold sand beaches and mariachi music. You will witness the paradox of everyday life in the biggest urban agglomeration in the world. At the end of the trip you will get some deserved recreation time in the oldest resort in Mexico, Acapulco.
Dzień 1: Mexico City
Flight to Mexico City. When you arrive in Mexico City your guide will pick you up and take you to the hotel. After checking in and short repose we will have the first dinner in the Aztec Kingdom. Accommodation in Mexico City.
Dzień 2: Tepotzotlan - Tula
Breakfast. Transfer to Tepotzotlan and visit to the National Museum of the Viceroyship. Transfer to Tula, the capital of Toltecs famous for the mysterious Columns in the form of Toltec warriors. In the archeological zone we will guide you through: large courts for playing the Mesoamerican ballgame, the Burned Palace, the Great Vestibule, the Museum presenting findings in the archeological zone and colonial era ceramics. We will drive to Ixmiquilpan, where we have a dinner and stay overnight.
Dzień 3: Tolantongo Canyon
After breakfast we will drive to Tolantongo, which is an impressive box canyon and resort. Its main attraction is two grottos at the canyon’s closed end, out of which flows a small volcanically-heated river which follows the canyon floor. You will have a chance to swim in natural pools in mountain caves, use hot water of waterfall as a hydro-massage. Afterwards we will drive to one of the capitol of early Catholic missions, Queretaro. We will have a dinner and accommodation.
Dzień 4: Queretaro - San Miguel de Allende
After breakfast we will visit the centre for Catholic missions, Queretaro with its beautiful old town and the Monastery of Three Crosses. The place has a crucial role in the history of Mexico. After the sightseeing we will move to “the colony of foreigners”, San Miguel de Allende, the city declared the National Monument of Mexico. We will have a tour in the city and visit “the only gothic church” in Mexico. We will drive to the capitol of theatre, Guanajuato and have an evening walk in the old town. We will have a dinner and accommodation in Guanajuato.
Dzień 5: Guanajuato-Uruapan
After breakfast we will have a tour around this UNESCO world heritage site, the most charming city in Mexico, Guanajuato. We will visit La Valenciana Mine, the Pipili Hill and the Mummy Museum. We will drive towards Uruapan and stop on the way to get some rest and visit the colonial city, Morelia. It is the capital city of the Michoacán state. We will check in at the hotel, where we have a dinner and stay overnight.
Dzień 6: Paricutin Volcano
Breakfast. We will drive to an indigenous village Angahuan, located at the bottom of Paricutin volcano. We will ride a horse along dormant volcanoes to the ruins of San Juan Parangaricutiro city. We will have a walk on lava-covered walls of a church remains. Afterwards we will drive to a mountain village, inhabited by the Purepecha and Patzcuaro Indians. Dinner and accommodation in the place.
Dzień 7: Indian Island
After breakfast we will reach the Indian Island Janitzio, the biggest island on the lake Patzcuaro. We will learn about the history of Purepecha Indians in one of their villages. We will have tour on the island and you will have a possibility to fish with local inhabitants. Afterwards we will drive to the former capital of the former country of Tarazcs – Patzcuaro. The place boasts one of the most beautiful Zocalos in Mexico and the Basilica of Nuestra Senora de la Salud. Then we will drive to Santa Clara del Cobre famous for its copper works. We will have a tour around the city and come back to Mexico City, where we will check in at the hotel and have a dinner.
Dzień 8: Frida Kahlo – Xochimilco
We will have a breakfast and go to see historical monuments of Mexico City: Palace of Fine Arts, Metropolitan Cathedral, National Palace with Diego Rivera's murals depicting thousands of years of Mexican history, ruins of Tenochtitlan. Afterwards we will go to the south to learn about the heritage of Xochimilco. During the short cruise on the “swimming gardens” we will try tequila, listen to mariachi music and learn about the history of Mexico City. Then we will go to the Bosque de Chapultepec, the biggest park in the city. We will have a chance to admire extensive pre – Columbian art collection in the museum of Anthropology. After the day of sightseeing we will go to the hotel and have a dinner, we will spend the night in Mexico City.
Dzień 9: “The City of Gods”-Teotihuacan
After breakfast we will go to Tlatelolco quarter and visit the Plaza of the three cultures- the place of the last clash between Indians and Spanish conquerors. Next visiting place will be the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. We will see the whole sanctuary with old basilica, modern basilica, Indian chapel, chapel on the hill and Guadeloupian Gardens. Afterwards we will go to Teotihuacan, 50 km away from Mexico City. In the archeological site we will visit the largest pyramidal structures built in Pre-Columbian “city of Gods” (the pyramid of the sun and the pyramid of the moon). We will walk The Path of Dead Gods and visit the Aztecs atelier of the magic stone – obsidian. We have a dinner in a local, colonial style restaurant and come back to the hotel in the evening.
Dzień 10: Cacahuamilpa and Taxco “Silver City”
After breakfast we will go to Tlatelolco quarter and visit the Plaza of the three cultures- the place of the last clash between Indians and Spanish conquerors. Next visiting place will be the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. We will see the whole sanctuary with old basilica, modern basilica, Indian chapel, chapel on the hill and Guadeloupian Gardens. Afterwards we will go to Teotihuacan, 50 km away from Mexico City. Dzień 11: Acapulco “Diamond Coast”
After breakfast we will leave towards the oldest Mexican resort “daisy of Pacific”- Acapulco. After arrival and checking in to the one of the best hotels in the “golden zone” of Acapulco, we will have some time for recreation on the golden sand and tropical sun beach. Our guide will organize an optional trip “The Diamond Coast” for those willing to participate. We will drive around the bay of Acapulco, pausing at viewpoints. Then we will go to the harbor to take a cruise on the “Bonanza” yacht. During the cruise we can admire houses of celebrities hung on the rocks while listening to live music and enjoying all-inclusive bar. After the cruise we will go to Zocalo to get a flavor of the ambience of this cosmopolitan and lively resort. Afterwards we will move to the Quebrada hill and we will experience a spine-chilling show – divers jumping off 45 meter high cliff. Afterwards we will bring you to the hotel for a dinner, where we stay overnight.
Dzień 12: Acapulco, Rambo Tour
Some leisure time on the beach. Our guide will organize an optional trip “Coyuca Lagoon”. We will drive to the Coyuca lagoon surrounded by mountains. It was the scenery from the movie “Rambo”. We will cruise down the river Coyuca through tropical gardens. We will try Iguana and coconut milk fortified with mescal, try the fang therapy (algae mask). We will sunbath at the Revolcadero coast famous for its huge waves and wilderness. We will come back to the hotel for a dinner and accommodation.
Dzień 13: Vista Hermosa – Cuernavaca
Breakfast and last moments of enjoying the golden beach of Acapulco. We will drive along the Highway of the Sun, which offers unforgettable views. We will have a tour around Cuernavaca, the city of unending spring. Transfer to the airport and departure from Mexico.
Dzień 14: End of the trip
Return home.
